Arsenal are at the front of the queue to sign AC Milan forward Suso – thanks to the imminent arrival of Monchi as sporting director.

The Gunners are expected to swoop for 25-year-old Suso this summer as they bid to become regular Champions League contenders once more.

But they are not the only club chasing the former Liverpool forward, who is also on the radar of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Arsenal are ahead of their Premier League rivals thanks to the Monchi link, reports Italian outlet Tuttosport .

Monchi is expected to be reunited with Arsenal boss Unai Emery after the two worked together at Sevilla. Monchi tried to sign Suso during his time at Roma and will pick up those negotiations at his new club if Unai Emery gives the go-ahead, according to Sportsmole .

The arrival of Monchi at The Emirates will also put Arsenal in pole position to sign Benfica sensation Alex Grimaldi, says the Express .

Left-back Grimaldo, 23, is one of the most highly-rated players outside of the top European leagues and has been linked with both the Gunners and Premier League rivals Manchester City .

With the full-back positions an issue for the Gunners, they are also believed to be interested in Porto left-back Alex Telles.



Monchi is expected to reunite with Unai Emery

Ever Banega, Ismaila Sarr and Nicolas Tagliafico are among other players to have been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
