The German league leaders face Tottenham in the Champions League last 16 at Wembley on Wednesday night.
It will be the 18-year-old’s first competitive senior club match on English soil, with Camberwell-born Sancho determined to put on a show.
Dortmund, who will train at Wembley on Tuesday night, had to delay their flight after Sancho and defender Abdou Diallo both realised their mistakes at the airport in Germany.
Dortmund’s players arrived at Dortmund airport at 11am local time, but soon realised the duo’s error on arrival.
Both had to return to their respective homes, and while Diallo was back within 40 minutes, Sancho didn’t return until 12:15 local time.
He had to cut through queues upon his return to ensure catching up with his teammates in the Departure Lounge.
That ensured that the EW 1909 flight to London Stansted was delayed by 20 minutes.
Sancho will start for BVB in England, having scored in the weekend’s 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim, as Dortmund threw away a three-goal lead.
The North Rhine club won’t be at full strength against Mauricio Pochettino’s men, with four key players missing from Tuesday’s flight.
Club captain Marco Reus is out with a muscle injury, while Paco Alcacer, the top scorer, has a shoulder problem.
Julian Weigl and Lukasz Piszczek are also absent too.
“These are players we really miss,” said sporting director Michael Zorc.
