They made off with makeup, detectives say, an estimated $5,000 worth of it during a five-minute raid on the cosmetics aisle at a Walgreens in Weston.

It happened about 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the store at 199 Weston Road, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Just-released security surveillance video shows five women walking to the cosmetics section in the back of the store and taking turns stuffing handfuls of merchandise into their purses and tote bags.

One of the women is seen using a blue Walgreens basket to collect beauty products before transferring them to a purse and returning the basket to the stack near the front door as she leaves.

Detectives think the same group of women may have shoplifted from other Walgreens in neighboring cities.

Investigators ask anyone who may have information about the women or the thefts to contact Broward Sheriff’s Detective Daniella Quinones at 954-626-4008.

Anonymous tips can be given to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at Tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
